1 Views •Overview
A large percentage of support requests are due to user misconfiguration of game records or outdated game records. Sim Commander now provides notification and repair of common misconfigurations.
If your profile or its underlying game record have a common misconfiguration, Sim Commander will notify you by placing this yellow warning icon on the top-left of the profile.
Simply click the yellow warning icon for additional information and repair options:
Click the 'Fix It!' button to have Sim Commander attempt to repair the issue.
Troubleshooting
If you find that the Sim Commander cannot fix your configuration then one or more of the following is true:
Sim Commander cannot auto-detect the game on your system.
The path that you specified to the Game Exe file does not exist on your system.
You manually configured a game record and specified the wrong type of Game Exe value for the plugin you chose. For example, if you chose the iRacing Via Website game plugin, the value is expected to be http://members.iRacing.com. If you were to specify C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing\iRacing Launcher.exe here, then it would be an error. In this example, you would select the iRacing Via Launcher game plugin if you wanted to use the launcher.
Ignore Validation Rules & Warnings
While it is not recommended, it is understood that rare circumstances may exist where it is desirable to ignore configuration warnings. For example, in some commercial use cases, it may be desirable to launch a game via a batch file instead of the standard process.
To ignore validation rules and warnings for a particular game record:
Click the 'Settings' button from the Sim Commander main screen:
Expand the 'Games' section.
Select a game record
Check the 'Ignore Validation Rules And Warnings' checkbox.
Getting Help
If you are unable to resolve the issue, it is likely due to the fact that you aren't sure where you installed a particular game or are unsure how to tell Sim Commander the non-standard location of a game you installed.
