What Does Cloud Tuning Do?
Cloud tuning will optimally tune Sim Commander effects for a specific game/car/track with no user effort required thanks to our vast database of car/track performance data. See How To Use Cloud Tuning for basic usage information. Any effect that is possible to tune and requires tuning will be automatically tuned by Sim Commander. In the vast majority of cases, this is done without impacting user intensity slider preferences.
This means that you can create a single profile that has your intensity preferences and cloud tuning will adjust it for you as you switch between cars and tracks, all while maintaining your preferences.
For reference, everything you see on this screen is a user preference and won't be modified by cloud tuning.
You would need to open up individual effects to see the settings modified by cloud tuning
What Devices Are Supported
The following devices are eligible for cloud tuning:
AccuForce V1
AccuForce V2
G-Belt
GS-4 G-Seat
GS-5 G-Seat
Stage Series Motion Simulators
SimVibe
Each device has different cloud-tune needs. Here is a brief description of what you can expect us to tune for each:
AccuForce V1/V2 Cloud Tuning
The following AccuForce V1/V2 effects are eligible for cloud tuning:
Engine Vibrations (all engine effects) (usually already tuned by auto-setting inside effect)
Front Suspension Bumps
Game Force Feedback (NOTE: Some games set this scaling themselves. It's implemented as needed)
Lateral G-Force
Road Bumps
Steering Foundation
G-Belt Cloud Tuning
The following G-Belt effects are eligible for cloud tuning:
Acceleration
Braking
Bumps
Cornering
Pitch
Roll
Pitch Accelerations
Roll Accelerations
GS-5 G-Seat Cloud Tuning
The following GS-5 effects are eligible for cloud tuning:
Acceleration
Braking
Bumps
Cornering
Stage Series Motion Simulator Cloud Tuning
The following Stage Series motion effects are eligible for cloud tuning:
Acceleration
Braking
Bumps
Cornering
Pitch
Roll
Pitch Accelerations
Roll Accelerations
SimVibe Cloud Tuning
The following SimVibe effects are eligible for cloud tuning:
Engine RPM (usually already tuned by auto-setting inside effect)
Front Suspension Bumps
Front Suspension Bump Surges
Impacts
Rear Suspension Bumps
Rear Suspension Bump Surges
Road Bumps
Road Texture
Vertical Surges
Example
In this example, we will use a braking effect because it applies to G-Belt, G-Seats and Stage Series motion system and should be relatable to a large number of users.
The intensity slider, which is set to 50% in this example, represents your user preference. It essentially says that you want 50% of the available actuator, panel or belt travel to occur at the maximum G-Force produced by the vehicle. In the past, the only way to know what the peak braking G-Force a vehicle produced was to guess or to spend a lot of time in telemetry analysis tools like Motec, etc..
Our cloud tuning database has millions of data points built out over a 5-6 year period at the time of this writing. As you change between cars and tracks, we fill in the correct peak braking G value (shown boxed in yellow) for you!
You simply launch a profile and drive. If you have a preference for more or less braking G, you can turn the intensity slider up for braking, which again is a user preference and not modified by cloud tuning.
If you get a bit too far off track with your customized intensity sliders, you can always follow this quick tutorial to learn how to easily Reset A Profile To Defaults. After doing so, you can simply launch the game again to re-apply cloud tuning and be back to default SimXperience experience.
