Voltage Adjustment on Meanwell PSU

Avatar
Luna Fasano

In my experience most Meanwell PSU's have a voltage adjuster that can increase or decrease voltage by a couple %.  Of course it would void the warranty, but would adjusting the voltage have any effect on the available force to the wheel.  I recognize there would be increased heat (if you increased the voltage) but would it fry the circuitry?

This is purely a hypothetical question of course.  Don't try this at home kids!

We've experimented with this sort of thing. You basically wind up trading amps for volts. It changes the performance characteristics but doesn't add any torque. It can also make it more likely to burn up one of the resistors on the circuit board.
