Hi all,

I operate my Seatmover with two SCN5 150 mm from a DIY package. This has worked perfectly for many years. Now, inspired by a video, I have the idea of setting up the whole rig on four actuators (SFX-100 as 150 mm version) and using these four actuators to reproduce the up and down movement. Only this movement, all other movements such as acceleration, braking, curves etc. should continue to be generated via seatmover. The rig would therefore only ever lift and drop at all four corners simultaneously, no tilting to the side or forwards/backwards.

Now my question: Can Sim Commander also control and move these actuators or should I run another motion software (simtools) in parallel, i.e. via port forwarding from Sim Commander?

Does anyone have any experience with this and could give me tips on how best to implement this?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Olivier,

thanks for your reply. I had already suspected that it is not possible to control a "foreign" actuator with SimCommander. I have also installed SimTools and connected it to the two SCN5s, which works - I can control the seat mover with both SimCommander or SimTools. In the meantime, I have already looked into the details and I think I will control it with two tools running in parallel, as you confirmed, with SimmComander being the first instance and passing the signal to SimTools.

No it won't be possible to control actuators that aren't connected with a sx-4000 box. But it's possible to run another software in parallel. I'm using Simhub alongside sim commander to control fans and my e-clutch of my shifter.
