Hello,

I have been a member here since 2014 and have contributed numerous posts over the years. However, upon logging in recently, I noticed that all my previous posts are missing. My profile currently displays a start date of 22 May 2021, yet my account details confirm my original join date of 2014.

Could you please clarify what has happened? Were all my previous posts deleted?

Thank you for your assistanceHello,

Hello Bernard,

I apologize, but there appears to be a misunderstanding. You might remember our interactions from several years ago when you assisted me with technical issues and sent replacement parts and a new SX4000 to Brazil. I was an active member on your forums when there weren't many users. My invoice from 2014 clearly shows I have been a member since at least that year, but my account now indicates 2021 as the start date. With over 35 years of experience in software development, I can assure you no one else has access to my account. If it were hacked, it's unlikely that the hacker would only erase my forum posts or change my profile date back by seven years.

It seems that there was a problem with your system. My account was erased i guess, my profile image is removed, my posts are deleted, and my activity date is changed by 7 years. This doesn't seem like a typical account compromise. It's baffling how someone could alter the registration date isnt it?The idea that accounts were merged doesn't explain the situation, as the individual posts would still appear, just under a different or unknown user name. However, that's not what happened here either.

I added 2 screenshots:

1. My email account from 2013-2014 shows numerous posts. (I could send you one for every single year in the past)

2. Another screenshot displays an email from a forum including my username which completely disappeared from the forum with ALL posts!

I believe my account may have been deleted or renewed by mistake. Accusing me of having a second account or that my account was hacked is unfair and insulting, especially given the evidence. I used the same account, login, email since 10 years!

Thanks.

Hi Oliver,- We don't delete accepted posts. The only thing I can think of is that if you had duplicate accounts and we merged them, some data might be lost in the process. We wouldn't normally merge accounts unless it was requested though. I would suggest changing your password in case your account was compromised.

It seems highly unlikely that the error did not result from your own mistake. Just review the data and evidence. I have hundreds of forum notification emails in my inbox spanning over the last decade, and I can't see how anyone other than this forum could have the ability to change the registration date.

I am disappointed that there has been no acknowledgement or apology given the clear evidence provided by my screenshots, which show numerous posts dating back several years, prior to the 2021 date displayed on my profile. Bernard, I did not expect this lack of response from you. It seems you may have enough clients now that losing one does not concern you much. Thank you for the support.
