I have heard that Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown uses Dirt Rally 2.0 telemetry - would it be possible to add support for the game into SimCommander for the motion rigs?

With the SimCommander patch available today (10/9/24), Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown became discoverable.  And, using SimCommander leads to a great deal more consistency with the in game racing.  For anyone else who wishes to test it, these are initial settings you can try within game: (adjust to suit your personal taste)

Overall vibration: 58

Overall force: 100

Self Aligning Torque: 65

Tire Load: 80

Self Centering (optional): 2

Wheel Recentering force: 25

Remember:  When you bind the steering axis in game, you MUST use the left shift button on your keyboard to enter Advanced Settings so that you can remove the deadzones on the axis.

As for SimCommander, I suggest adjusting the TDUSC wheel range to 360.  I am hoping that TDUSC will ultimately be patched to work better at 900 or 540, but for now... 360 is pretty much your best bet.

As with most other racing games, tuning (ARBs, Springs, etc.) is essential to get the most out of your cars.  Unfortunately, tuning isn't even available until level 20.  So, as soon as you can afford it, get the Audi TTRS.  That is your first Meta Car.  Once you hit level 20, get to tuning...  As always, I am happy to provide a tune or two if you would like it.

In the meantime, a big THANK YOU to everyone at SimXperience for making SC4.5 compatible with TDUSC!!!!

This is currently being investigated. If the telemetry it provides meets our safety and quality standards, we'll have an update released next week.

I see support has been added to the latest version of SimCommander, but when I launch the game from SimCommander I get no motion from my Stage 3 simulator. Do I have to enable something in the game to make it work?

Couldn't comment to your post directly James so commenting this way. When you auto-discovered TDUSC, I think there is a setup button in SC4.5 which edits the TDUSC config file to turn on telemetry and use port 10001. Assuming you used that setup button on the SC4.5 TDUSC tile, all of your SimXperience gear should be working on the very next start. I have my Accuforce Pro V2 working and I am using SC4.5 to successfully forward udp packets to the rest of my (other) gear. Long story short: it does not require the user to do much unless you also need to forward udp to another manufacturer's hardware as well. And, SimXperience has gone above and beyond to make sure that works too.

I realize the setup button I mentioned was probably a yellow shield with an exclamation point in it. Click on that button if you see it on the Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown SC4.5 tile.

Hi Brent, thanks for your comments. Unfortunately I don't see a setup button, the icon for TDU is showing in SimCommander but I get no motion when I launch it. Is there a way to manually edit the config file to enable motion in TDU?

Yes, you can manually edit the config file; however, at this point, I suggest a quick call to SimXperience for support. Historically, they have been incredibly helpful. And, you may have run into an issue I haven't seen (since I don't have SimXperience Motion - I just have the Accuforce Pro V2.)
